Xing Rai-Mei stood outside the walls of the slightly rundown old estate. She was heavily adorned with gold chains in her yellow hair and her pink kimono had many finely laid plates along the sides, just stopping at the hem of her kimono. Even her bare feet had toe rings and numerous anklets. She hardly looked ready for travel. She had clearly never walked anywhere before. She did not even have a pack.

With the guards all dead or deserted, she had been forced to post for new retainers for this trip. The servants who where in charge of filling the pantry she had given the double duty of posting for an armed escort to a more prosperous city where she could attempt to repair her house in terms of finance.

That would be a long road though. It seemed while she was locked away for safety most of the deeds had gone "Missing" and she had no way to collect what was rightfully hers. Still, right now it was not the time to dwell on future issues. Apparently a shinobi was in the area though, so that was at least a little good luck. She had already sent the house help out looking for him.

A man with an apron ran up to the pair asking questions about a shinobi. Apparently three swords and a rather monstrous sized wolverine wasn't a big enough tell. After explaining themselves the two followed the man to where he said the woman was, and there she was. Standing in front of a nearly destroyed estate. The place had seen better days, and so had the girl. Though she looked clean, and was wearing enough to feed a village. Rainer hopped off Konrad's back and investigated the building a bit as Konrad shook his fur back into place.

Is that what you're wearing on the road? Konrad asked her with a slightly confused look on his face. Rainer didn't really care, though he did respect her lack of shoes. Her toe rings he found oddly attractive, not something he thought was his thing. Making his way back to Konrad He bowed slightly. I am Rainer Hokkai, and this is Konrad. Your escorts. with that said he extended a hand to greet her properly before they set off. He hoped she was ready to go. As much as he loved seeing new places he was needed back home as perusal.

"If you are asking me if I intend to remove what I am wearing the answer is no." The girl told him bluntly though she did look a bit annoyed at being asked a question. Didn't these people have any manners? Well, perhaps it was just to be expected. They where assassin after all. Not even proper soldier at that, so it was perhaps natural that they had no sense of propriety. It seemed she would have to be patient with them. "I am Lady Xing Rai-Mei," She said waving away her house help so that they would leave her. Her voice wasn't very rough but she did have a general tone of boredom in it, as if she where being made to do some chore. "You may refer to me as Lady Xing, or any other honorific you think sounds appropriate." The small woman instructed stepping out of the gate frame and into the sunlight. "This is a business transaction we can skip over any pleasantries. I am in a bit of a hurry. Did my servants let you know what it was I have called you here for?"

Rainer crossed his arms at her answer, this one was odd to say the least. Konrad gave her a rather odd stare before slamming his hind end down on the ground. Her attitude was that of the stereotypical noble, a sense of superiority, something neither of them liked. Rainer shrugged at the girls question and shook his head a bit, he knew Konrad was going to speak so he felt no need to. Well we know we're here to escort you back Sheol, but you're kind of making it sound like we're supposed to do more. Rainer only hoped she knew they were more than mere hired muscle.

Though the lack of respect she gave him was an obvious sign of that, her ignorance would only lead to further disrespect. He thought everyone could recognize the wrapped up blade Hiramekarei, or at least one of the blades that served their shogun. Maybe she simply didn't care. Rainer tapped Konrad, not wanting to take too much longer, in response he rose from his seated position allowing his brother to mount him. Are you ready? His voice was a bit cold, and his grimace was colder. This was a task was more for a group of genin, he was clan head and a blade, but he treated this with the same importance as he would any other task he was given.

"Not at all. Sheol is correct. We may discuss pay and go our separate ways after we arrive. I doubt you are doing this for the pleasure of my company." Rai-Mei told them a little bothered by their casual behavior. She bet the upper houses did not have this problem. With a bit of a sigh at her situation she would start walking in the direction of Sheol. She was annoyed that he was riding and that she had not been offered to seat, but she was not about to ask for some kind of lenience from someone who obviously didn't even understand manners. She was even a bit bothered with herself for assuming he would offer it.

She was going to make the journey without shoes? She must have been expecting some kind of chariot or something. Konrad walked toward the girl as Rainer extended his hand to her. It's a long trek, shouldn't walk it bare foot. this was Rainer offering her a seat on Konrad, even if neither wanted her on him. This girl was something else, funny part was Rainer could easily see she was annoyed it didn't take his sensory skills to tell. Though they'd come in handy, every emotion she'd feel he'd pick up on allowing this trip to go smoothly. Maybe that's why they sent him. He hoped she'd take his hand, or at least improve her mood. He wasn't sure why she was annoyed, but it was only going to get worse if she had to walk all the way to Sheol.

Rai-Mei looked down at her feet and gives the ground a little kicked to the ground. "Its fine." She tried to say casually with a bright smile to cover up how uncomfortable she felt being asked to share a saddle with a strange guy when she had never even shared a room with one except for her family. Honestly speaking she was actually quite afraid of them, as unfamiliarity often makes one. Of course she was not about to admit that. Instead she settled on simply saying that it was not that far and she would be fine.

Her annoyance was gone, but it was replaced with an uncomfortable feeling. Rainer placed his hand on his knee and gave a slightly empathetic look. Though he could also feel fear, it was slight, not too overpowering, nothing she couldn't get over by the end of the trip. Though he wanted to be sure she didn't end up with blisters on her feet. Please, just be straight forward with me. I can feel your emotions in a way. Your annoyance, your fear. So just tell me what will put you on Konrad's back. His tone was soft, with a feeling of genuine care about it, though it did keep a slight coldness about it.

"Well," She said awkwardly scratching her cheek trying to figure out how to say what she meant. "I'm not allowed to be up there if you are going to ride him to," Rai-Mei explained as best she could. Her proper disposition had eroded quite a bit and she now looked very much her own age. Nervous, uncertain, and hesitant to ask for any consideration. Her hand grabbed the hem of her dress as a comfort touch as she tried to make it sound less personal. She didn't want to spend the entire trip in a cloud of negativity. "It has nothing to do with you. Its just the rules, you know?"

Konrad stopped as he heard what she said. She was making things far more awkward than they needed to be, you didn't need Rainer's skills to be able to tell that much. Though once she got out what she wanted to say Rainer quickly dismounted. He'd fare far better than her, and that's all he needed to know. His hand then lifted to meet her, a gesture that was simply him offering to help her on the massive wolverine. They both could tell her words were true, and she meant no offense. Rainer was just glad he was able to get things to a more positive standing.
