Xan would watch his apprentices expression, before nodding and then proceeding to crack his neck an indication that they would begin training now. Of that I have no doubt. Now considering we were interrupted the first time before I could further your training we shall continue where we left off. Tell me apprentice have you made any progress on retraining your Hoho so that it becomes second nature to use it alongside your Twin Moon Dances? Xan inquired his usual scowl appearing on his face once more. He knew that his apprentice had been disheartened by the loss and thus probably neglected his training thus he did expect a resounding no in terms of the answer however maybe he had been constructive with his anger and used it to push himself further. It is crucial for you to master it if I am to instruct you on the finer points of the Bloody Moon Stance.

Well I am currently able to travel at Vacuum Release speeds with little to no effort while using Hoho at the moment moving at Blinding Light however takes a toll on me pretty quickly so I try not to move faster than Vacuum unless absolutely necessary.” Hiro said after hearing Xan’s question. Hoho had been the means he had become accustomed to when moving having putting Shunpo on the back burner as Hoho was a bit more dependable and wouldn’t put his life at risk, when using it in collaboration with the Twin Moon Dances of course, and it was much cooler and manlier than the Dances as well as now he wouldn’t have to worry about looking like a fairy whenever he was in a fight with someone and as an added bonus it was much easier to dispatch his enemies as they had a hard time reading his movement when he had the chance he would ensure that he would be able to use it at Blinding Light speeds for when he had another go at the witch and when the time came to fight Xan’s new apprentice.

"Good. Shunpo was merely a stepping stone, Hoho is far more effective if possible you should attempt it while jumping your forward momentum should carry over the distance it is useful when you do not want to touch the ground. As well as a set up for aerial combinations. Xan said pausing for a bit as he seemed to consider what next to say before grimacing further before speaking once more. "How is your senbon work, have you figured out a way to blend it with your silent killing or is that still an issue. Once you have settled that issue you should try throwing your shuriken behind you after you move with Hirenkyaku, the drafts should boost their speed as they travel through the air" he said referring of course to the fact that Hiro's senbon skills while acceptable were not fluid enough to incorporate alongside his kenjutsu just yet. Sure Xan knew Denkou utilized senbon somewhat effectively in conjunction with their sword skills however he was trying to make it so that his apprentice could rely on senbon as a way to round out hi distance issues. Likewise the light-weight and ease of storage would not impede his movement in any way allowing him to keep vast quantities of the senbon on his person for throwing when such opportunities arise. Besides senbon were useful for targeting weak-points such as eyes or the throat with his Raidengan giving him the accuracy needed to pull of throwing them while an opponent dodges out of his sword range or to bait them to move closer to him where he could deal with them more easily.

"Work on that, on your own time however for now we will refine your use of the Blood Moon Stance." Xan said waiting for his apprentice to move into the correct positioning while he rested his hand on Basilisk. He would be using his real weapon for this practice, the Blood Moon Stance was a style of kenjutsu worthy of his actual attention, unless his apprentice did not realize the gem that he had bestowed on him.

Techniques Xan is referencing:

In truth Hiro had little to know skill when it came on to throwing senbon, usually he would just toss projectiles hoping that it would hit its target, no strategy behind his attacks whatsoever, and on top of it he made it completely obvious that he was going to throw the projectiles so those who were able to move faster or have any time slowing or prediction techniques or dojutsu could easily dodge them and thus he generally opted to leave his senbon packs at home and the few that he did walk with he used to pin his hair up so it wouldn’t get in his way. “Umm.. I’m not too good with senbon throwing but I’m practicing tossing em around quite often, Hirenkyaku I’m kind of hesitant in using it due to the extreme fatigue I generally feel after.” Hiro said deciding to tell him the truth rather than lie as he didn’t want a repeat of what had happened the last time they were together, the fact that he still had working genitals was a blessing from the God Queen and he planned on keeping them working.

Well it was time to get down to business. He would quickly unsheathe the katana that was attached to his hip and held it in his left hand while unsheathing and gripping the Wakizashi with his right and took his stance.

Xan would walk around his apprentice studying his form and noticing that while it wasn't perfect the flaws weren't too much. Tilt your torso so your side is what is facing your opponent your dominant arm should be in the back while your non-dominant arm should be the one closer to your opponent. Or the hand drawing the shorter sword should be farther back than the one drawing the longer one for that express reason. This will allow you to bait your opponent to capitalize on you drawing the longer sword more slowly allowing you to parry their incoming strike with the shorter one and deal a stronger counter. he said cracking his neck and waiting for Hiro to correct his stance. How goes your juinjutsu studies, it is imperative that you learn how to employ curses as this style while effective on it's own is far more lethal when juinjutsu curses are added to the mix.

Hiro would tilt his torso so the right side of his body would face Xan so the Wakizashi would the one closest to the man while the Katana would be at the back. This in truth was extremely uncomfortable but he would get used to this stance eventually…hopefully. “I’ve learnt some basic Juinjutsu curses and it is only a matter of time till I master the stronger curses.” Hiro stated. Juinjutsu, like Senjutsu was something completely new to him in fact the only reason he knew about it was due to Xan instructing him to learn it. Luckily unlike learning lightning magic it wasn’t that much of an uphill task as Minarai Castle had an entire library dedicated to the different type of Juinjutsu curses, after all it was the basis of what Carmen had used to power her undead army.

Good, now show me some kata's the Blood Moon Stance is built from all your other simplier kenjutsu styles as such you'll be able to apply them to it whether Full Moon, Twin Moon, Stumbling Edge, Tuning Blade, Crescent Moon or New Moon all of those kenjutsu techniques can be used and mingled with one another. However in order to commit it to muscle memory your going to have to relearn how to link styles, I've noticed that you subconsciously switch your stance prior to using another technique, instead replace that switched stance with the Blood Moon Stance and then try to preform a technique as you would normally, you'll be surprised with how smooth it is. Xan said, staring at his apprentice expectantly this way Hiro would be able to shave off precious seconds where he shifts into another stance to instead use his kenjutsu techniques interchangeably with one another even finding ways to link them together into lethal combos. This was yet another aspect to the Blood Moon Stance which made it superior to it's composites.

After he had finished speaking Hiro would sheathe his weapons and turned to face him. “Before we continue, I remember you speaking about moving with Hirenkyaku, in truth I don’t believe I fully understand the concept of Hirenkyaku, do you mind going over that?” He asked as he was a bit confused on how to utilize Hirenkyaku in his fighting as it was more complex than Shunpo and Hoho combined and thus he thought it would be better to ask Xan on how best he could integrate Hirenkyaku into his fighting style as he didn’t want to go gung-ho and ended up collapsing due to exhaustion on the battle field.

Understandable, Hirenkyaku is highly advanced even my Sonido is not comparable to it in terms of complexity. Ultimately you will be able to preform it only because of you learning the Shinken Gai Kata. By permenently converting the ambient natural energy in your body to possess a lightning affinity even in it's base state and possessing the ability to use Hoho it will alter the latent speed of your Hoho. When you use Hoho try incorporating Lack of Intent into it, the object of this movement style is to move without giving the impression of moving. If you preform it correctly it should be like gliding as your speed minimizes the friction between yourself and the ground allowing you to cover distances without shifting yourself too much. Your legs and lower torso however are taking all of the strain for you, which is why it will be very fatiguing to preform this. My suggestion is to try what I said with natural energy as a reinforcement first when you've managed to do it then try it without using chakra as a crutch. Xan said trying to explain the best he could as it was mainly theoretical, sure he had studied the Denkou the best he could but ultimately he could only make educated guesses about how the technique was to be preformed.

Hiro would simply nod in acknowledgement, but in truth he was even more confused about the technique than he was a few minutes ago. This technique was a bit too complicated and risky for his liking and he thought it probably would be best to stick to using Hoho rather than Hirenkyaku for the time being as he was unable to perform the move correctly, though he was pretty sure he would catch on to the move sooner or later as he did with all the other techniques. “You know you never did show tell me about those.” Hiro said pointing towards Basilisks and Cockatrice. He had recalled Xan using Basilisks in their previous spare which was a bit mean if you sked him.

Xan would pause, it was a valid question he hadn't asked and so Xan had felt no need to tell him. No it was more than that, Xan hadn't told anyone what they could do after all a samurai's weapon was an extension of themselves and it was ridding oneself of a potential trump card if said ability was known. As such he would think a bit before deciding to tell his apprentice of what their purpose was rather than the exact specifics of their abilities. Perhaps with that hint Hiroshima could figure it out on his own at a later date. Basilisk and Cockatrice you mean? Well they are named for a reason, they are both similar in what they can do despite being two different types of weapons. Basilisk as you know is a Katana while Cockatrice is a Nagamaki, the former is specifically made to kill Zireh while the latter is meant for killing everything else. This way even if my initial cut does not end their life they won't live long enough to divulge the secrets of my swordplay. he said trailing of a subtle hint that he was done speaking about them.

You will eventually require swords worthy of you, though you still have a ways to go before you are worth the sword that will fit you perfectly. Maybe when you have obtained the Raijin no Ken then you can ask me what my swords do and I won't be purposefully vague.

Hiro resisted the urge to ask if he could actually touch and hold the swords as he knew Xan probably would’ve said no. Though having swords that were made to especially combat each race was cool and a bit scary but then again what wasn’t scary about the monster of a man that stood before him? “The Raijen no what now?” Hiro said a bit confused about Xan had said to him. He had absolutely no clue what a Raijen no Ken was and how he would go about obtaining one. Hopefully Xan wasn’t planning on sending him on some wild goose chase to search for something that people spoke about but never actually saw cause then that would suck. “How am I gonna find this Raijen no thingy anyways?” He asked knowing that Xan probably didn’t even know where it was. Damn urban legends.

Xan would sigh figures his apprentice would get the name of such a legendary sword wrong. It is a sword of legend, rumored to be originally held by the ancestors of the Dokusei clan but was gifted to the Denkou Clan during a temporary alliance against the Mishura Clan. The Denkou apparently improved it though it isn't known what they did to it all that is known is that the wielder of such a weapon is able to manifest a blade of lightning and freely control it at will granting mastery of the element on par with those with the highest of affinities. he said ignoring the second question, as he didn't know exactly where it was but they were immortal they could spend a lifetime searching for it and another oh wait, he was immortal his apprentice unfortunately still clung to the mortal coil. That would have to be rectified eventually, though it wasn't as if they were searching for the weapon right now.

All of that just sounds like an urban legend! Why would the Dokusei give the Denkou clan a sword?” Hiro asked knowing that he probably wouldn’t get an answer as Xan was probably just quoting what he himself had heard from someone else, though he had to point out that the story didn’t make any sense to him whatsoever, further more he had never heard any of his family members speak about the Rai thingy no ken so there was no way he was going to believe that myth. Though a sword that could grant him the ability freely manipulate lightning did sound like something that would come in handy. Perhaps once he meets a blacksmith he could have he or she make him a sword that could do something like that, which would probably cost him a pretty penny but it would be worth it now wouldn’t it?

"The Era of Warring States was a tumultuous era filled with alliances and constant warfare. Who knows why they did but it was possible to seal an alliance against one of the stronger clans such as the Toketsu or the Juryoku or the Shinu. Xan mused hearing his apprentice speak, he was relaying knowledge from his clan history, while the Ibwa Clan had not be apart of the war by virtue of being stuck in the Polar Continent occasionally one of them got bored enough to swim across the polar sea promptly defrost after about a month and wander around gathering sacrifices for Jashin. In the event they weren't put down, annihilated, incinerated, frozen for good or buried underground or the various other methods of dealing with the renegade Jashinist that did end up finding their way into the chaos they would go back the way they came and detail all that they had experienced.

Meh…” Was the only thing that Hiro could manage to say as the whole idea of a sword that was granted by some random clan to the Denkou who somehow made it into a legendary weapon was a bit far fetched, I mean it was an interesting story to tell the kids but it was still a dumb story. The day he believed that story would be the day Xan would denounce his rank as a God of Pandora, retire and live a peaceful life filled with flowers, dancing bunnies and no cigars or cigarettes. “Say, when do you think I’ll get to meet Carmen-sama?” He asked as attempted to put the whole Rai jen no sword thing behind them.

"Truthfully, I do not know. The Goddess has been in a state of hibernation after defeating the Avatar of the Shinigami and wresting its power for her own it took a lot out of her mortal body. When she recovers from the endeavor perhaps I shall take you to her, though she has a habit of killing people randomly so I would prefer if you were already immortal before your encounter." Xan said divulging information which he knew due to him being Carmen's right hand within Pandora. Still until she got her power back in check he didn't want to risk her flaring her aura and separating Hiro's soul from his body. "It would be a pain to travel to the afterlife and retrieve it." he thought to himself before staring at his apprentice without blinking. He had noticed the deflections of what he had asked and while he had in fact humored his apprentice he wasn't going to let him slide without showing him his transitions.

Well if she was a homicidal manic it would probably be best to stay as far away from her as possible, after all dying wasn’t on his to do list today or any time soon. Hiro had silently picked his brain for something else to ask Xan, but truthfully he had no more questions to pester him with which was a damn shame because now they had to get back into training. “Well I guess I deflected long enough.” Hiro stated with a smile before drawing his Katana and his Wakizashi once more. He was supposed to be demonstrating techniques from the different stances using the Blood Moon Stance, so it should be easy right? Taking his stance he would first look for a target to showcase his skills but the only thing around was Xan. Letting out a soft sigh, Hiro would bolt towards Xan at Blinding Light speeds but he would somehow manage to stumble on his way, during his stumble he would raise his Wakizashi towards the light hoping that the beam of light now reflecting off his weapon would blind Xan. Without hesitation he would immediately close the gap between him and Xan and when he was within 15 feet of him he would pivot on his heel and began spinning like a top aiming for Xan’s upper body.

Xan would manage to close his eyes in time for the light to not affect it taking a step forward at blinding light speed to move closer to his apprentice before drawing his blade to block the spinning strikes anchoring himself in the ground so he didn't move. He had managed to track his apprentices movement by virtue of his own innate perception and his familiarity with kenjutsu some inherent to Cypher. That coupled with his speed & reaction advantage negating the otherwise difficult to detect attack while he couldn't anticipate his moves in advance like he usually would with muscle tension he was able to still keep up without many problems. "Hm, all he needs is more speed, this style of kenjutsu is superior to all that I have had a hand in creating. Perfect it is only natural for the apprentice to surpass the master in time." Xan thought to himself his frown diminishing as he had used Iai Quickdraw to block the spinning strike with Basilisk only to follow up with a Hilt Blow aimed at his apprentice's stomach with Cockatrice. You might miss something if you don't activate those eyes of yours. he commented as if Hiroshima had in fact activated his dojutsu and read his counter if he glanced at Xan's face he would see the barest hint of a smile. If not then he would miss it during the time the blade Xan blocked with Basilisk would end up breaking due to the B-rank cutting force exerted on it, Hiro was after all using rather genetic weaponry. Xan was aiming at forcing Hiro to block the hilt blow with his other sword however if he ignored it then Xan's follow up would be to sheathe his weapon to trigger Dragon Howl Strike and follow up with another Iai Quickdraw aimed at the Katana side rather than the Wakizashi.

Well that failed miserably, Hiro thought as he now found himself in quite the pickle as his initial attack had failed. Perhaps attacking Xan wasn’t a smart idea but he was already screwed and he needed to escape and fast or it was the end of the line for him. Hiro started to panic as he was unsure about what to do to defend himself against Xan’s kenjutsu as he was unable to read it using muscle tension. But then he had remembered that he hadn’t activated his Raidengan, well more like he had to be reminded by Xan that he needed to in order to stay alive. Now able to read his kenjutsu, Hiro would see Xan’s attack aiming for his stomach an attack his was quiet familiar with. Gripping both his weapons he would gather a massive amount of Natural Energy within his body and prepared himself to do what must be the craziest thing he has ever done but it was worth a shot. Now that he was able to predict his movement, Hiro would intercept Xan’s counter at Ripping Discord speeds which was thanks to sacrificing S rank amount of NE to Hirenkyaku.  Parrying his attack, Hiro would cross his legs so that he would stumble and would teeter in an arc. While in mid air however, Hiro would throw five senbon at Echoing Flash aiming for Xan’s legs. He wouldn’t land behind Xan however as he opted to use Hoho bound to maneuver “jump” in mid air, launching himself forward aiming a diagonal slash with both blades at Xan’s back.

Hm? Xan said noting his apprentice had parried his Hilt Blow and then drastically amped up his speed causing his eyes to narrow, Hiro wasn't ready to reach that level of speed after all the max speed he could reach via Hirenkyaku was SS-rank- which was slower than SS-rank Speed much less Ripping Discord which was SS-rank+. Still it was an admirable effort though he could see he was trying. Pushing yourself is admirable but you will break your body trying to reach those speeds. he would reply actually being hit by the senbon but they would shatter upon impact with his body. He would however count that as a good attack Hiro was learning how to mix them into his kenjutsu however instead of moving to try and dodge the overhead strike coming from behind Xan would counter attack moving at Blinding Light knowing that if he had used Ripping Discord he might accidently kill his apprentice. Said counter entailed, sheathing Cockatrice while jutting out his elbow to use Displacement Elbow aiming at intercepting his apprentice before he could make contact with his blades. He was cutting it close but seeing as his apprentice had gotten around him it was either that or use a more deadly Geka Seido attack.

Hiro couldn’t help but groan when he witnessed the senbon shatter the moment it had hit Xan, he wasn’t disappointed because his attack was nullified as he hadn’t expected the senbon to do much against Xan but he had atleast hoped that he would’ve been able to pick them up after the one sided training session was over but now he had to buy more! Oh how it sucked being broke. But he had to lament another time as he was currently in a bind.

Narrowing his eyes, Hiro was actually able to predict Xan’s kenjutsu without needing intense concentration, which was a bit strange but maybe it was a blessing in disguise or an invitation to death, either way this was his chance. Predicting the attack thanks to Muscle Tension, Hiro would use Hoho: Bound once more to skip to the left to evade the oncoming attack, then he would hop in mid air to close the gap between the two but instead of attacking Xan, he would simply pass by him.

Xan would use the opportunity that his apprentice gave him by dodging his counter attack to spin around quickly while also rushing forward but not striking also simply passing by Hiro he was suspicious as would anyone be at such an attack but by the same token it was a difference from the high speed clash that they had just been having so perhaps his apprentice wanted a change in pace. He could oblige him and as he swept past him matching his apprentices speed his eyes would narrow but other than that there was seemingly no other action done. If nothing else happened Xan would finish moving and would stop about twenty feet away from his apprentice back turned and staring into the distance. He didn't look back but he could only assume his apprentice was doing the same, this was either a brief respite before the clash begun anew or a signal that their spar was over for today.

This would be his final attempt to get one over his sensei. He knew he was probably suspicious of his movement and he had every right to and knowing him he was probably prepared for what was about to come next. “I guess I’m still a thousand years behind you pops…” Hiro said without turning around to face man. He couldn’t help but wonder if he would ever be on the level that Xan was and if he would ever be able to actually beat him in combat. Maybe it was possible for him to beat him if he was a higher rank, just like how that succubus had beaten him. “Yeah in another universe” He said at that ridiculous thought.

Twirling his sword in his left hand he would sheathe the blade and waited. He had placed all his hope on this move it would be interesting to see if he had counter for such move but either way this training session was over.

Xan would sheathe his blade as well his frown actually vanishing though there was no smile on his face, it had been an impressive move very much worthy of Hiro being his apprentice. Still he was young and while such a move would have worked on someone else, Xan was far to skilled to let it injure him. But he admired the effort and thus would allow it to hit him, while dealing out his own damage relying on his impressive defense tiers to tank the damage for him. The result was that Hiro's blade would shatter and there would be a slash mark in Xan's gi and flak jacket with him placing his hands in his pockets as if nothing was wrong. "That was a very good finisher technique, I assume for the spar you chose to not utilize your lightning release then, if you had you probably would have made me bleed. Then again did you notice what I did to you?" his eyes would dart to Hiro's mid section which if he hadn't been capable of noticing it, he too would have a slash mark. If it had landed it wouldn't be anything serious just a shallow wound which would bleed but the intent would be there.
