PostSubject: Chromatica Branching Mission - Lake Je'daii    9th June 2017, 2:21 pm

Once they had been deemed ready and this mission was approved by the Elders of the Clan it would seem that the three potential heirs of the Chromatica Clan would be sent to Lake Je'daii to begin their trial. They would be sent to Side Archipelago within this great lake where they would be tested and eventually be able to create their Plasma Sabers. Such was required for them to truly become recognized members of the clan and even be able to try to battle for the position of heir. There were three boats one for each of them as while they may start the journey together, it was unlikely that they would take the same path seeing as there was more than just a single island within the lake. Their parents had the utmost faith that all of them would succeed hence why they had been sent here without any escorts and without any supervision beyond that of The Force itself. The lake itself was completely obscured in dense fog of an unnatural make, clearly some sort of complex force created concealment seeing as all senses but those of the force couldn't even penetrate through it. Thus they would have to rely either on The Force to guide them or drift aimlessly until the boat gets to an island during which it would change course and head straight for it.

Inside each boat was a note, which would instruct them to go to three islands, two of their choice with the last island being the Royal one. Which islands they chose would determine what type of Chromatica they were and what gems would be available to them during the creation process of their Saber. It would once again state that typically those who create their Saber only go to two islands but seeing as they were of a higher standing than most within the clan they unlike their counterparts have access to three.

PostSubject: Chromatica Branching Mission - Lake Je'daii (Ariel & Azazel's Path)   9th June 2017, 2:52 pm

Ariel had left before her brothers that day, for perhaps the first time in her life over a shared task of the three of them. She just felt excited, and this was arguably the first step towards them truly separating down their own unique paths. When it came down to it she wasn't doing this to become a Clan Head at the far step, she trusted her brothers and would hope that they shared her belief that at least a council under the Clan Head was best for the clan. Of course she also knew how her brothers saw their respective fields. As one of the 'Light' she felt a calm approach to the trials were needed, thus she was there early. She would select her own boat, sitting down within it as she drifted in to meditation. Upon finally hearing the first steps to one of her brothers, she would stand with a wide grin, using the smallest of pushes with the Force to send her on her way. "See you at the finish line!" She called out to whichever of her brothers was approaching. With the boat drifting, she would hunch down again, returning back to her meditations. She felt the need to just let the Force drift her through the waves than control it to find her way to a specific island.

The boat would carry her onward causing her to see the island that she was swiftly approaching being one that was surrounded in tall mangroves which gave it a somewhat intimidating appearance especially since the sunlight that was shining on them did not penetrate all that far inland. Either way once she reached the island the boat would eventually slow and then stop once it got to the shore and regardless fo what she did it would not move until she had obtained at least one gem native to the island and placed it on one of the three sockets that the boat had where she was sitting. Once she stood on the island the force would bequeath the knowledge of this island's name onto her allowing her to know it as Ash that which was basked in light yet held darkness within.

Ariel opened her eyes again only once the boat rocked to a halt. She looked up and around as she stood, hopping out of the boat and picking up the boken she used as her current weapon. Feeling the rush of the Force granting her knowledge, she smiled softly and began to walk from the boat's perch. Keeping herself alert, she would begin her search for where the gems would most likely be found.

As she head through the island she would notice the various pinpricks of sunlight which would make there way through the mangroves, though they became more scarce the deeper she went. It was unfortunate as due to her lack of Force sense she would actually miss some gems as she continued moving through the island as she was limited to only noticing those which could sparkle due to the rays of light. Thus she had to make a choice, would she stick to the outskirts of the island in search of gems she would readily be able to see or would she instead venture deeper in hopes of stumbling upon something rarer.

Azazel had woken a bit later than he usually did, but that was to be expected. He had been up most of the night, worried and excited about the day's events. He and his siblings were finally going on their rite of passage: they were going to be getting their sabers. He had fallen asleep only a few hours prior, but he woke up energized and ready for what was to come. Or at least he hoped he was. In truth, he was a bit nervous. He had anxieties deep down that something would happen to him, something that would make others think he was unworthy of the position of clan head. There was a deeper feeling there as well, a worry for his sibling's well-being, but he pushed that to the back of his mind. He had been convincing himself he didn't care what happened to them thus far, why shouldn't he continue?

He moved down to were the boats were situated and watched his sister push off on her boat with a small smile "Not if I'm there first..." He whispered, knowing fully well she couldn't hear him. He climbed into his boat gracefully and sat down, pushing off from the shore and reaching out with the Force. He felt the call of a darker island, cast in shadows, and he moved the boat in the direction of said island instinctually. He had started his journey, there was no going back now. There never was.

Ariel didn't realise she was missing gems, but likewise she would have elected to go ever deeper towards what felt to be the centre of the island. However believing she had seen the glint of a gem further out, she would get an idea. One for when she got deeper in to the island, where the shadow was the thickest. Once there she could only begin to make out the silhouettes of her surroundings. She would join her hands together, concentrating the Force in to her hands as they suddenly let loose a hard flash of light, and letting that brief flash light the area to find some potentially rarer gems.

With her Force Flash illuminating the area she was able to reveal a gem which was just to the right of her foot. It was a small thing as most gems which were to become part of a Plasma Saber were and it had a vibrant color despite it's small size thus allowing Ariel to realize that it was an Amethyst. This was a shock as typically on the first island one went to they only got either a Ruby or a Sapphire clearly the Force was at work in ensuring the future of the clan was bright indeed. Now whether this was a sign that she had a bright future ahead of her and was chosen by the force, it had yet to be seen seeing as her brothers might likewise obtain a gem differing from the rest just like she had. Now she had to make another choice which was to search for another gem this time on her own rather than being guided by the force or head back to the boat to place it in the socket and journey to a new island to find whatever island the force would lead her too next.

---------------------------------------------------

He unlike his sister knew where he was going, and quickly head towards it, with clear direction and upon stepping foot on the island the growls would gradually dwindle before all became silent as the fauna native to the island decided to take in the new arrival and whether or not he was a threat...or if he was merely dinner. He had a choice to make, whether to stay near the outskirts and avoid being set upon by a creature, yet missing out on the rarer gems which lay inward. Or he could venture deeper into the island perhaps he would stumble upon a rare gem or perhaps he would get ambushed by a the creatures who fed off of the gems natural attunement to the force and discover a gem far rarer yet at the risk of losing his life in the process....

Azazel stepped off of his boat once he came to the island's shore, walking forward and examining his options for travel. He could walk along the outside of the island, or venture inwards. He was...an adventure seeker to say the least. If he did not possess the strength to defend himself from the more dangerous creatures on the island, he did not deserve the position of clan head. Simple as that. He wandered forwards into the darkness, ready for whatever the island was prepared to throw at him.

"Oh so pretty!" Ariel yelled as she picked up the pretty little purple crystal, tucking it in to her satchel. Spinning around on her heel, humming to herself she would head on back towards the boat. She wanted to continue onwards with the challenge and meet up with her siblings again. Finding the boat again, easy as she moved only really in a straight line, she settled herself back in and slipped the stone in to the first space in the boat. "Big brothers, I hope your journey is going as well as mine," She whispered softly as she settled herself back down in to meditation, wondering where the force might take her next.

This time the boat would take her somewhere else, off to the overgrown island which teemed with a mixture of both wildlife and plants so vibrant in life that upon Ariel stepping onto it's banks she would immediately know that this was the Pure Island a representation of the Force in all of it's forms. Just like before she could choose to venture inward or she could scan her immediate surroundings without much difficulty as this island was a mix of both brightness similar to how the world was normally.

Spoiler:

--------------------------------------------------

Azazel would continue onward and would eventually come across a split path, allowing him to either go left or right, once more he had to make a choice or he could conclude his journey here and instead try to feel around for gems that he could collect instead. The noises of the creatures still had yet to resume, it would seem that they were all either distant or rather good at concealing themselves from his presence or perhaps a mixture of the two as he had not yet ventured far enough into their territory yet to trigger an attack. If he continued to walk the Force that was guiding him would continue to become darker, inviting and yet filled with raw emotion that threatened to pull him under, it would seem that upon traversing deeper he would gain knowledge of the island and the name it went by, Dark.

Ariel opened her eyes and couldn't stop a squeal. By far this was already her favourite island just from the looks of things, but unlike before she would note there seemed a more abundant field of gems on the outskirts, and with her 'rare' gem already she knew she would need the basics in order to just make her saber. As such she would venture just a little further in to find a gem quickly.

Azazel would keep his ears pricked in order to be able to pick up on any noise at all made around him. It wouldn't do to be ambushed by some creature or another. He took a small glance around before looking onto the two paths. The Force here called out to him, revealing the island's name. Dark was fitting for this place, cast in shadow with all manner of creature lurking about. He felt...at ease here, despite the danger he could find himself it. Instead of dwelling on it, he decided to continue forth, the Force pulling him down the left path, wherever it may lead him.

She would end up spotting a Sapphire which was in a puddle of clear water, it was still glittering even though it's brilliance was somewhat muted due to the water it found itself within. It was small just like the Amethyst she had picked up but that did little to diminish its worth as for a Chromatica size really wasn't everything, it would serve it's purpose and with two gems collected she had yet another choice remaining whether she would search the outskirts yet again for another gem or she would move on to the Royal Island, as it seemed not only was she the first to set off but it looked like she would also be the first to finish. Still she was missing the Ruby and she would have to either find it on this island or bet on the Royal Island having what she needed, so the choice became more complicated rush to the finish line and trust in her ancestry or dally more and search this island which seemed to be filled with The Force.

---------------------------------------------------------

As he moved to the left path content to continue onward instead of just stopping here and with that choice came his first sign of adversary, as something was stalking him from behind. It wouldn't linger long and even if he did turn around to catch a glimpse of it he would be unable to see it and it wasn't something visible to the naked eye. No this Maccao had been tainted becoming something else as it was twisted by the Dark Side which radiated in abundance on this island into some sort of primal Sith Alchemy. It would lash out quickly trying to pounce on him while moving at Crashing ground speeds. If it was successful Azazel would find himself pinned under it's weight while it leaned down to roar in his face so as to scare him into struggling no longer.

Ariel thought it over, just staying a little longer to perhaps find something a little more 'pretty', not that the sapphire wasn't pretty of course. She mulled it over. And over. She needed a Ruby still to make a working saber. She would finally make the decision however, and turn back to return to her boat. She liked the island and everything, wondering if she might be able to revisit at some time, but she had a task to do. Sitting back in the boat, she slotted the sapphire in to place, and headed off towards Royal.

Azazel had turned around only to have a rather large bird-like creature pounce on him and slam him to the ground. It moved much too fast for him to be able to get away from it, so he was pinned. It roared at him, and the young Chromatica took an opportunity. He bit his lip hard enough to draw blood, feeling the little pain it caused but ignoring it for now. As the creature held it's mouth open, he spat his yellow blood directly down it's throat. Their blood didn't have acidic properties, like that of the Dokusei, but he would hope the radiation was enough to do something to his assailant. Other than that, he laid there completely still, unable to do much other than that anyways.

Considering he spit into it's mouth while it was roaring at him the wad of blood would be shot directly into it's windpipe causing it to hack and start coughing and thus back up off of him as it hacked desperately to try and clear the blood from its lungs. As it hacked away it would sustain the stamina loss that could only occur from mild radiation poisoning, would Azazel take this chance to flee or would he push his advantage and try and kill the beast with whatever was around him if his natural abilities proved to feeble to truly deal it any sort of harm.

Using the chance he was awarded by the creature needing to clear it's windpipe, Azazel got up from his position on the ground and flew off as fast as he could. Unfortunately, this was only at swift release speeds, but he hoped that the creature was distracted enough to let him get far enough away. Maybe it would even leave him alone...It was a vain hope, but one he still held.

Azazel was smart to flee after all this creature while fairly weak was still too much for someone who lacked even the most basic of offensive force techniques, his flight would lead him into a tree which he could optionally hide behind or continue forward as the Maccao eventually stopped coughing and would roar in annoyance and would begin looking around for him. Truthfully the boy was lucky he even had Force Sense as his sister would of undoubtedly not even be able to see what had pounced on her and wouldn't of had the stroke of fortune to spit into it's mouth. Luckily he was not her, and thus would seem to live to see another day, at least if he got away.

Thanking his lucky stars that he could sense things that his siblings may not be able to, Azazel hid behind the tree gladly. He was thankful that he floated, because that meant he was above the jungle floor and couldn't step on any twigs or such debris to give away his location. Just to be sure, he ascended a single foot into the air, moving closer to the branches of the tree, even if only by a little. He would look around to see if he could find anything that may be useful as a weapon in the meantime, hoping to find something that could be of use to him.

As the first to arrive on Royal she would get first pick of the area, unlike the other islands there were pedestals each of which had a gem embedded into it, and it was obvious that depending on the gem she wished to obtain she would have to make a donation of midichlorians in order to cause the pedestal to release the gem to her. Around her there were 9 pedestals in total, 3 of them were Rubies, 3 of them were sapphires and the remaining three gems were all different being a Topaz, an Ametrine and finally an Opal. However the Rubies and Sapphires were also different as only one of those Sapphires resembled the one she held in her hand. One of the Sapphires was a more grayish blue while the other wasn't blue at all instead being Yellow. Whereas with the Rubies one was a vibrant Pink, the other being something of a more standard ruby and the last was darker almost purplish in hue. The connection to the force here was more muted however even with her fledgling senses she knew that she would only get a maximum to two chances to interact with the pedestals before they would be closed to her regardless of which she picked.

Spoiler:

------------------------------------------------------

It would seem that he was lucky that the Maccao hadn't thought to search for him in the treeline as it would instead run off to where it had first spotted him near the crossroads and look for him there. On the other hand he would find a small gem partially embedded into one of the branches of the tree he was hiding behind. It was small and if not for his force sense it was possible that he wouldn't of even noticed it seeing as in this darkness it didn't glint but instead blended in with the scenery seeing as it was a Onyx.

Azazel found the Onyx and quickly took the gem from the place where he had found it. He then floated down and looked to where the Maccao was searching for him, deciding to make his way back to his boat. He let the Force guide him to his destination and flew from the treeline quickly, entering the boat and pushing off, heading towards the next island that called to him. The island happened to be one not too far away, covered in fog yet lit by...something there. Hopefully there would be less murderous Fauna for him to run into...

Ariel couldn't help but feel humbled before the pedestals as she realised she was the first there. Also a little proud and smug that she was there before her brothers. She would look to her current stash of gems, and think about what she needed. The gems in the pedestal were just so pretty. Feeling the Force continue to guide her, she knew just what to do. She stepped up to the pedestal holding the more pink Ruby and pressed her hand to it. Closing her eyes she let the Force just flow through her in to the surface. She let every ounce of her current power flow through to release the selected stone. She felt every drop of midichlorians leaving her body, but it was worth it to get the pretty pink stone. With it in hand she took a deep breath and sat at the foot of the pedistals to meditate, to refill her body with the warmth of The Force.

When she obtained the Pink Ruby she would notice why it was so expensive and how distinct it was from a normal Ruby. While it shared the traits of the standard Ruby it likewise possessed another trait, a mixed gem so to speak and with the Force shrouding her she would understand that if she used this gem in her saber construction it would bequeath an additional ability to her Saber which typically would not be acquired through the use of a Ruby. This was the treasure of the Royal Island, these alternate gems were quite rare on the other islands, but on this one it wasn't so much as that pedestal would sink into the ground.

Spoiler:

--------------------------------------------------------

This island was known as Grey or Gray the duality of it's names would echo in Azazel's head however unlike the one he came from he would realize that the force was less entrenched in the Dark Side, instead there was light at the center unyielding to the darkness all around it. Yet to those who did not understand it was just as dark as the other island. Once more he could look on the outskirts for gems or rely on his Force Sense to detect hidden gems further inland, but unlike the last island this one didn't seem as dangerous.

Azazel, being slightly comforted by the less hostile air of this island, walked forwards in order to let the Force guide him forward. He learned the name of the island and felt that this one was much different from the last. The other was steeped in darkness, while this one held light at it's core, not letting the darkness completely overwhelm it. He moved forwards in order to find that light, if he could.
